AI Applied, correctly.

I went to the dentist today for my annual check-up, and I actually loved it.
Now, don't get me wrong, my dentist is great, but that’s not the reason for my excitement. What really caught my attention was how she used AI tools to diagnose me.
“I don’t even need to look inside your mouth to examine it anymore,” she told me, as she manipulated a 4D image of my teeth on a tablet.
Then, she showed me how an AI tool analyzed my X-rays, highlighting things like “previous restorations,” “third molars,” and “cavities.” By zooming in, she could pinpoint exactly where a cavity, or even the beginning of one, was forming.
So why am I talking about cavities on LinkedIn? Because this is a real-world example of how AI can make a difference, enhancing lives in ways we never imagined. It's also a great reminder that AI isn’t here to replace professionals; it’s here to empower them. In this case, AI didn't do the diagnosing. It helped my dentist do it better.
I left feeling confident in my diagnosis because it was a partnership between my dentist's experience and the AI's ability to spot every tiny detail and compare it with millions of data points from patients around the globe. It's fantastic, isn't it?
We’ve all seen AI being applied in ways that don’t always make sense, like slapping it onto products just because it’s trendy. It's like attaching wheels to every object back in 4000 BC. It doesn't always fit.
