Leadership lesson from Pep Guardiola
Pep Guardiola once said that winning the Champions League isn’t about doing it once and then fading away. It’s about being there year after year, staying consistent. If you keep showing up and keep pushing, you’ll eventually win it.
The same applies at work. It’s not about the one big thing or a single event that gets you promoted or helps you achieve your goals. It’s about playing the long game. It’s not about what you did, or didn’t do, on a single day. It’s about the behavior patterns you build and the value you consistently deliver.
Not every day will be a win. Some will feel like a step back. Some will make you feel like you could have done better—and maybe you could have. Don’t beat yourself up. Learn from it, and move on. You’ll do better next time.
Amigo, you’re not going to win the Champions League every season. But if you stay consistent, if you keep showing up, and if you’re patient enough, you will eventually get there.
