Start as a rookie again

Start as a rookie again

On Tuesday, the printing of my first book begins. A real book: paper, ink, my bio, my prologue, and a short story.

It’s not a solo project. It’s the work of almost 300 people, each contributing a short story. A rare case where hundreds of strangers came together to create something collectively, deciding everything democratically: the title, the structure, the content, even the cover design.

It’s not a perfect literary masterpiece, but that was never the goal. We learned a lot, we had fun, and we built something real together.

It was a chance to stretch my creativity, to focus on something completely outside of tech (and outside of what I usually write about), and to start as a rookie again. It was energizing and humbling.

Intentionally putting ourselves in situations where we’re beginners again is a powerful exercise to develop an adaptable, curious, and growth-oriented mindset.
